The Costa Ballena (Whale Coast) area of Costa Rica encompasses the communities of Dominical, Dominicalito, Uvita, Ojochal, Tres Rios, Coronado, and San Buenas and includes the beautiful Marino Ballena National Park with its iconic Whale’s Tail land formation.  The area is famous for whale watching mid-July to October and mid-December through late February and numerous surf spots as well as the annual Envision festival.  Homes in Costa Rica’s Costa Ballena area are desirable due to the proximity to the ocean, numerous recreational activities, and easy access to higher altitudes, which provides milder temperatures.
